What good are blogs?

Have had a chance to go over some blogs tonight.  Reading about other's lives and situations.  I am so glad that others take the time to post their thoughts.  It becomes a very nice breath of fresh air after reading the news headlines and all the negative out there.  Satan looks like he's winning when you read what is happening, and that is discouraging and depressing.  So then I try to find something uplifting, but where to look??  The blogs.  Gives me hope that God is really at work and it is in the small and simple things that his good is brought to pass.  Thank goodness for God.  If he wasn't at work in this world, what would we have?  Which makes the Christmas season so important--Who needs Christ?  (as the billboard in New York posted by atheists said)   We do, the whole world, everyone.  It where I turn to feel any type of peace and happiness.  Its where everyone needs to turn.  He is so very important to me and becoming more important as the world turns darker and darker.  He is definitely the light in the tunnel--reassuring us it will all be ok.  We had a Sampson family Christmas party last night. Had everyone in the Salt Lake area there except a few.  To see my sisters and nieces and nephews all there.  Didn't take a head count, but I'm guessing maybe 80??  That was so special to have them all together and see family.  Got to love on each other and enjoy each other.  I was especially touched to see nephew Georlin come with his baby daughter.  Georlin walks with a shuffle, and has a hard time maintaining his balance as he walks due to some past and ongoing illness.  It isn't easy for him to get around.   But as I watched him come up the sidewalk--coming on with a determined, so "happy to be there" attitude, and can't wait to be with the rest of the family--brought tears to my eyes.  Because he's been "there" and "back" and he really does appreciate family and how important it is to be with them.  So he was willing to come out on a cold, snowy Dec night to join us.  He made me reconsider myself.  He's a good example of God at work in the world.  Whenever we see these type of things, we just need to feel reassured that Satan won't win--and carry on with doing good where we can.  Thanks Georlin for being there.
