Summer Happenings

Definitely will need to do some catch up now--so many things going on.  And if I don't post something now, I will get even more behind.  I'll try going backwards--4th of July, Family reunion/vacation, etc.  I'll add pictures to show what all happened.
July 10, 2013--Happy Birthday Holly.  Maybe you can't see on the cake (an ice cream cake even--homemade) that she is the big 40.  Something she did not like, but it is inevitable (getting older anyway).  Mark and Denise and AJ were in town for a visit as well.  Kim came over to meet them and have dinner with us.  So fun to have our prospective daughter in law around. Yeah!  It was another hot hot day--thankfully we are getting some cloudy rainy weather though the last week or so.

Our 4th of July celebration in the backyard.  Another hot day--playing in the water for the littler grandchildren, cutting down the Russian Olive and the end of that zip line (plan to put another one up after the wedding.  Casey was inspired with a portion of the trunk to make it into a love seat.  Using the chain saw, drimel, and sander--a pretty nice seat.  Then a lot of visiting in the shade and ending with watching fireworks in the front yard with the Orme's.

Moab stop over at the power house dam --getting wet  and eating our lunch
Next stop was Cortez and our stay at the hotel there.

The Pool was so refreshing with all the heat and a day's driving and almost everyone in the water enjoying the cool.  Up the next morning and into Mesa Verde.
Cliff Palace

After lunch waiting to take Balcony House Tour

Scary moments while little kids and adults made their way up the ladders.  But we all did it!  On to Pagosa Springs and the reunion.

hanging out at the pond--no fish but fun anyway.

Lunch in the cars when we got rained out at water falls. Meg didn't really mind as she was under the back lift gates of the car.

Scrabble

and lots of races, games, obstacle courses.  The orange shirts were well attended.  There is Grandma in the background with Patsy.  Lots to do for the 2 days we were there.  We headed back to Salt Lake on Sunday after we had church services.  A full and busy trip.  We had to leave Mom Tiede as she was journeying on S. with Carroll for Gila.  She had been up here for 2 months spending time with all of her family up here.  She has quite a posterity.
