A day in Logan

Not much to post about--but I thought I would catch this up.  Doug and I spent this 1st week of retirement doing a lot of rat killing. Meeting with people to get finances taken care of, etc.  Not anywhere what normal might be.  Also had a dinner with Scott Krug, Bob & Linda Johnson, and Bob Buto on Tuesday night.  Our little going away dinner of sorts.  Enjoyed visiting with these friends.  Tuesday Mike had helped set up a meeting with a Fidelity agent to help go over some of our retirement money--that took some time.  Then Wednesday made a trip to Boart Longyear to turn in our pension package.  Appreciative of MIke and his time spent in helping us.  Think we finally got it all hammered out.  Made some reservations for next week and our trip to Death Valley--then headed to Logan for the day.  We met up with Sean and headed out to the Hardware Ranch where the Utah Dept of Wildlife Resources feed the elk.  It was neat to see--and get up close to them.  We headed back down to Logan and went to Sean's work--the holster business he is managing.  Got to see Brian Mott who is working for Sean.  Business is booming and there is too much work for only a couple of people to do.  So Sean has hired a couple of young men to help out.  He says they are managing to keep up.  Anyway it is an amazing operation.  We then went and got dressed and headed to the Logan Temple to do a session.  Ended up being a live endowment session that was pretty full. Then we went to dinner at the Bluebird Restaurant and came out to some more light snow falling.  From the weatherman's report, I was expecting snow all day.  I had even thought of canceling this trip, thinking we didn't want to drive up and back to Logan in snowy conditions.  But Doug said no, we were going to go no matter what.  So you know what happened--there was hardly any snow.  The most we saw was a little skiff in Logan.  Even over Sardine Pass--the roads were clear.  That was a tender mercy for me--who is so paranoid about driving in snowy weather.  Doug and Sean teased me all day about my worrying about something that didn't happen--all because the weatherman predicted.....  Well you get the idea.  We enjoyed seeing Sean in his element.  He is doing well.  He is so amazing of how he has taken on this business and school and is being very successful.  But we all knew he could do that.  He just gets to realize how pretty awesome he is.  None of us ever really recognize our great worth do we?  No pictures of Sean and Doug and I--but just the elk from our day spent together.  Will try and remember to include the people who matter in a picture next time.
